Turning hardship into purpose.
On May 11, 2016, my life changed forever. After a false arrest, I faced the loss of nearly everything. Although the case was dropped twenty-eight days later, the experience deeply affected my life as a mother and changed the way I viewed traditional systems.
What began as one of the darkest chapters of my life became a journey of reflection, faith and purpose. Through that journey, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges people face when they fall through the cracks of systems that are supposed to protect and support them.
Those experiences inspired me to create New Day Soldiers Rooted, an organization built on resilience, empathy, love and community action.
We believe every person deserves dignity, encouragement, practical support and the opportunity for a new beginning. Our work is focused on creating stronger connections between veterans, families, youth, seniors, volunteers, businesses and community organizations.
